1st Grabsy Scout Group

1st Grasby Scout Group consists of 3 sections catering for young people from ages 6 to 14.

Each section meets once a week during school term times, usually at the Grasby Village Hall, but can be anywhere in the local area, if an activity demands it.

The group was set up in April 2008 by Bruce Bushby, the first Group Scout Leader. At the first meeting a Beaver Colony was formed and for 2 years young people of our local community started to experience Scouting for the first time in a long time. When those young people reached 8 years old, a Cub pack was formed and Grasby started to expand. Likewise at 10.5 years old, a Scout Troop was formed to cater for the growing trend at Grasby.

The Group, now with three sections started to draw in young people form further afield; Caistor, Bigby and North Kelsey. From those humble beginnings we now have a Group of more than 60 children, 16 leaders and a fully functioning executive committee.

Due to this increase in numbers we unfortunately have full sections, but we do have a waiting list - with many names!

There is now scope as a mature Group to expand further and to add more sections to reduce the waiting list but to do this, we need more adults and helpers to join the team. Please visit the Leaders/Adult Helpers tab to find out more.
